I am a CCRN-certified registered nurse with a clinical background at a Level I trauma and academic medical center. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University and my Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in Nursing Education, from Walden University. I began my healthcare career as an aide in both adult and pediatric emergency departments before becoming a nurse and have since worked in intensive care and perioperative nursing. My passion for education began during nursing school and has continued to grow throughout my career. I especially enjoy helping learners understand the “why” behind complex concepts, connect foundational knowledge to the bigger clinical picture, and build confidence in their clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.

Outside of nursing, I was born and raised in West Virginia and still call the Mountain State home. I share my home with my husband and our cat, Brie. In my free time, I enjoy reading and spending time with family and friends.
